Any chance we can update the Grace website with the more recent info?
Rob Lewis is a composer, producer and cellist hailing from London. His upcoming second album ’98’ (out 14/02) centres around the concept of cell regeneration and the evolution of mankind, with each track focussing on a different area of the human mind and body. The record has been commissioned by Google to provide a bespoke 60-minute sound instillation for their new Room 98 in LA. It will provide the sound track for the space, taking the listener on a journey of sweeping instrumentation that ebbs and flows between contemporary classical and experimental electronic. ‘98’ is the follow-up to Lewis’ critically acclaimed album Momentum. With singles ‘The Sea’ and ‘Pines’ receiving support from BBC 6 Music, BBC World Service, The Guardian, and more, the record was a statement of intent from one of the UK’s most exciting newcomers in his field. As a composer, Lewis has worked on a variety of high-profile projects for TV, scoring numerous documentaries, as well as collaborating with SBTRKT, Noel Gallagher, David Holmes and Mercury Prize-winner Dave. When performed live, Lewis’ compositions are created in one take using a cello, simple effects and a loop pedal. Each composition is written with the idea of mixing it completely live, and as a result no track ever sounds the same twice.
